How do I download Google Chat?

Google Chat can be confusing to download as it is not a standard application (it is a Progressive Web App). In article we will take you through the steps to download and install it.

How to download Google Chat?

Chrome App: Standalone App for Google Workspace. Works alongside Gmail.

Step 1. Open https://chat.google.com/

Step 2. Click the Download button that is in Chrome's URL Bar (see icon in the screenshot below)

Note: Google Chat is downloaded as a Progressive Web App and will appear as an app in your launcher, alongside your other apps.
